Description
Dazyair Comic Book Rescue Art is a project that keeps damaged comic books out of the landfill.
From the artist:
A few years back I received a gift from my father who found a box of old comics, he thought I might like to have them. I was thrilled until I opened them up to realize they had mold and some were severely damaged.
I was already working on a series of prints where I collected unused ink to create monotype prints. I decided to tie the comics into my current body of work and started collecting leftover paint. The results have been rewarding and I continue to try the best to keep the process environmentally friendly.
Each completed canvas is a one of a kind environmental statement.
