"This piece was created for the officially licensed 70 Years of Godzilla gallery exhibition hosted by Spoke Art Gallery, Ghost x Ghost, and Toho Godzilla in August 2024 at Spoke Art's LA location.
Godzilla has always been a favorite of mine—I love the classic movies and the toys. I've had the opportunity to design licensed Godzilla toys in the past, but this was my first chance to create a painting in my own style for the beloved franchise. I chose to depict Monster Island from the opening of the 1968 film Destroy All Monsters. Anguirus, Mothra, Gorosaurus, Rodan, Godzilla, and Minya all look so peaceful as they sleep…"
